At STYS, player safety is always our top priority! 💙🏆 A simple but crucial part of that safety starts with wearing shin guards properly. These small but mighty pieces of gear help prevent serious injuries, so let’s make sure we’re putting them on the right way!
✅ How to Wear Shin Guards Correctly
Option 1: Sock Over Shin Guards (Preferred Method)
1️⃣ Put on long soccer socks and pull them all the way up.
2️⃣ Place shin guards over the socks, ensuring proper fit and ankle padding placement (if applicable).
3️⃣ Fold the top of the sock down over the shin guard, making sure it’s completely covered.
Option 2: Sock Under Shin Guards
1️⃣ Place shin guards directly against the skin.
2️⃣ Pull the soccer socks up and over the shin guards, ensuring full coverage.
🚨 Important: Shin guards must be fully covered by socks during practices and games. Exposed shin guards are not permitted for safety reasons. If a player’s shin guards are not worn correctly, they will not be allowed to play until fixed.
These small details make a BIG difference in keeping our young athletes safe, confident, and focused on the game they love!
